Best of the West Basketball Tournament:
D-M Fitness Center will be hosting the 21st annual “Best of the West Basketball
Tournament” . The Best of the West Basketball Tournament is the biggest
tournament for Davis-Monthan AFB and has been a tradition for over 20 years.
It’s a 12 team double elimination basketball tournament. Trophies will be given
to first, second and third place winners. Attendance:
4000+ plus, 12 teams,
from western US bases.
Items
needed: Fruit, Beverages,
Trophies, T-shirts for the players, and spectator’s giveaways from corporate
sponsors i.e. sports & fitness related items or money to purchase such items.
February:
Mardi Gras @ Enlisted Club or
Officer's Club,
attendance: 300+, fun and dance, door prizes, items needed money for band and
door prizes
Super Bowl Party at the Enlisted Club (serves
Alcohol), attendance:400+ adults , items needed: Super bowl Prize: $1000 for a
large item to be given away at the end of the Super Bowl i.e. Stainless Steel
Grill w/ accessories, big patio set and grill or a large amount gift card.
Super Bowl Party for Airman @ Community Center
(non alcoholic event),
attendance: 100+, items needed: money to buy team jerseys, hats, and other
prizes to be given away as door prizes. $1000 or more
Valentine's Day Dinner at the Officers
Club, attendance: 400+,
all ranks, gift cards or items as door prizes, hotel vouchers, resort vouchers,
a free trip to ???, a spa, furniture, patio sets, DVD players, home entertainment system, one
year free ????.
March:

start-up, attendance: 250-350, season lasts from April- July, Team sponsor

A fun filled day to honor military

plant dirt, flowerpots, trays of flowering plants for the kids to plant there
and take home, some kitchen items i.e. crock pots to award to the winners of the
cook-off contests, or Gift cards, tools, hotel vouchers, trips to ???, furniture,
patio sets, sports items, DVD players, home entertainment system, one year free
????, etc. money for band +/or DJ.

Football Frenzy:
Aug – Super bowl, weekly Monday Night Football sessions, on big screen TV , door
prizes and commercial break give-a-ways, attendance: weekly 75+, at Super Bowl
game 200+, items needed: money to purchase weekly prizes. Large item to be given away at the
end of the Super Bowl i.e. Car or truck, Living Room Set, Washer/Dryer Combo, a

FamCamp Manager has a appreciation Turkey dinner for the “Fam Campers”,
attendance: 200+, items needed: Turkeys, Fry oil, Turkey Fryer Pot, Picnic
Tables, plates, forks, knives. How to Workshops could be set up, outdoor event.
Thanksgiving Dinner at the Officers
