TITLE:  Recreation Specialist (AUTO/ARTS & CRAFTS)

                                NF-0188-III

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: With the guidance from the Community Support Flight Chief,, incumbent is responsible for the management and financial solvency of Auto and Arts & Crafts areas to include a custom frame shop, a graphics resale shop, an automotive repair facility consisting of contract auto maintenance service, a large hobbyists program, machine shop, paint booth, car wash and vehicle resale lot.  Provides overall administrative and technical supervision.  Purchases and maintains resale inventory for Arts & Crafts and Auto resale operations.  Is responsible for budget preparation, financial analysis, plans and programs facility and equipment requirements, replacements, and facility layout.  Maintains personnel records, addresses customer issues such as suggestions, complaints, etc.; maintains facility and related records for maintenance and repairs, initiates and performs resale and equipment inventories.  Works closely with the Flight Chief on overall vision and goals of both activities to include creating business plans and operating budgets for each area.  Participates in providing journeyman- level skill instruction to auto shop staff, instructors and hobbyist on such matters as trouble shooting, automotive diagnostics, methods of repair, and proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.  Maintains repairs and/ or overhauls 355 SVS fleet vehicles.  Responsible for maintaining Environmental standards required in Auto, Arts & Crafts, and the squadron.  Maintains clean, neat and safe work areas.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must have ability to supervise and implement sound personnel policies, practices and procedures.  Must have knowledge of safety regulations, procedures and policies to include environmental directives pertaining to handling hazardous materials.  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to create sound financial plans and  to compile quantitative and narrative reports, to account for and resale inventory, cash accounts and equipment, ability to instruct and assist staff and patrons in all phases of automotive repairs.  Satisfactory completion of National Agency Check (NAC) is required.  Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license.
