TITLE: Recreation Specialist - NF-0188-III
CATEGORY: Flex SALARY: $10.70 per hour

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary purpose of this position is to assist in planning, develop, and administer programs
to enhance personal and special events. Plans and coordinates details of
recurring and non-recurring activities, programs, special and joint community
undertakings so as to make maximum use of facilities services, and other
resources. Assists in developing periodic program plans, provides input on
annual calendar of events. Responsible for providing guidance and leadership to
participants in a variety of Youth Programs and Community Center activities, as
required. Uses AF Base wide surveys and local survey results to program events.
Established single event surveys to determine program effectiveness and
customer satisfaction for all major events. Responsible for direct contact with
internal and external customers. Arranges for supplies and services needed to
accomplish scheduled activities conducts inventory assessments to determine
equipment and facility needs. Schedules and monitors Community Center and Youth
Program activities in accordance with established policies and procedures
provided by superior or higher headquarters relative to the FMP operation.
Assists in writing Operation Instructions. Solicits volunteers, advertise for
instructors and contractors. Writes personal services contracts. Develops
orientation and OJT for new employees and volunteers. Maintains class logs of
payment and submits paperwork for payments. Works with Community Center
Manager, Youth Program Manager, and Marketing Office to formulate a marketing
plan and publicized activities. Gathers, monitors and maintains data to
complete reports. Responsible for security of facility and equipment. Assists
in maintaining the NAF and APF budgets. Works an uncommon tour of duty.
Performs other duties as assignment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be high school graduate or equivalent
with a minimum of two years work experience in a related field. Must hold an
Arizona Driver’s license. Must have or complete requirements for a Health Card,
Red Cross First Aid Certification and Infant / Child CPR Certification. Must
satisfactorily complete a State Criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC) and
National Agency Check (NAC) after initial employment. Must posses basic
computer skills and knowledge. Must possess knowledge of personal and
professional development, performing, leisure and recreation and family
activities. Must possess the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must
be able to lift up to 10 pounds. Position is a Position Of Trust.
