Boys & Girls Clubs of America Programs

  Youth of the Year:

This program is the BGCA’s premier youth recognition program for Club members. All members benefit from participation in this program, which promotes and celebrates service to Club, community and family; academic performance, moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability.  If selected as the Davis-Monthan AFB Youth of the Year, the winner will participate in state competition.  State winners participate in regional competitions.  Five regional winners each receive an engraved plaque and a $5,000.00 scholarship and compete on the national level.  The National Youth of the Year receives an additional $10,00.00 scholarship and is installed by the President of the United States. All Air Force winners will go to Washington, DC to meet other AF winners

Fine Arts Exhibit Program is conducted as an exhibit, not a contest.  Members receive recognition in the local exhibit by having their artwork professionally displayed.  They receive additional recognition if their work is selected for judging and included in the regional and national exhibits.  All members who artwork is submitted for consideration at the national judging receive certificates of merit.  Members who have their artwork selected for the national exhibit receive a fine arts plaque, a cash award and a letter of congratulations from Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s President.

Photography National exhibit/contest:  This program is conducted to encourage youth to hone their skills and pursue photography as a career or for fun.  Youth that participate in this program will receive recognition and have their photos professionally displayed and recognition from their families, peers and others in the community.
